SoCon History
Jeff Haynie, Sherry Heyl and Leonard Witt launched SoCon07, in February, 2007; then came back with SoCon08 in February, 2008 with the able help of Barbara Vining and Timothy Moenk. Some 275 people registered for Socon08, so, of course, SoCon09 is already being planned.

We are seeking entrepreneurs, angel investors and sponsors from individuals who support free enterprise, entrepreneurship and desire to invest in local growth-oriented companies!
The Southeast Private Equity Conference (SPEC) www.sePrivateEquity.org will showcase the most promising emerging growth U.S. companies, providing them unmatched exposure and education with the top national and regional venture capitalists, fund mangers, and private equity investors. SPEC is scheduled for April 29th in Atlanta, GA. This conference is unique because, it offers four key components necessary for raising capital and building successful companies:
First, we will host a Trade Expo with nearly 100 exhibitors representing both early stage and emerging growth companies seeking investors, services and capital and companies seeking business with both investors and entrepreneurs.
Second, there will be seven break-out sessions for entrepreneurs to improve their knowledge and skills. Attendees will learn how to create greater value for their companies, raise more investment capital, reduce risk, improve cash flow and liquidity and minimize taxation.
Third, we will offer eighteen companies exclusive access to over 80 most successful investors, fund managers, investment bankers, Angel investors and venture capitalists in the Southeast at the Emerging Company Showcase.
Lastly, there will be plenty networking opportunities for successful Angel Investors and aspiring entrepreneurs alike! It begins with the night before with a VIP reception and continues all day! You will connect with a diverse collection of individuals during breakfast, lunch, before and after each breakout education session!
Additionally, we conclude with our last great networking event with our Capital Community Celebration at the conclusion of SPEC.
